The popular "Ebken im ahoi" is only a few steps away from the beach at the Duhnen lifeboat station. The Ebken family has been running this traditional restaurant and café for 37 years and has always impressed with its seasonal delicacies and fresh fish. Whether after an exciting mudflat hike or a visit to the adjacent "Ahoi!" adventure pool - the "Ebken" offers a sociable spot and a unique view. "The outdoor terrace with a view of the world shipping route, the covered conservatory or the indoor area with a view of the adventure pool - the viewing spots in the Ebken are much sought-after," Detlef Ebken tells us. "Of course, this is the perfect place to enjoy a good meal or a fresh VELTINS. "Our partnership with the brewery from the Sauerland has existed since 2000," explains the senior boss. Two traditional businesses that are closely connected. Daughter Catrin Ebken is already the third generation to run the business with her husband Marcus. "And the fourth generation is already in the starting blocks," laughs father Detlef Ebken. But the entire staff is also one big family. The oldest of the 20 employees has already been with the company for 36 years "Actually, Mr Brandt only introduced himself to my father by chance," says Detlef Ebken. "He liked it so much that he has stayed until today." The "Ebken" family business is also not complete without the historic country beer from the C. & A. VELTINS brewery. "The drinkable Grevensteiner is a real hit and goes down really well with our guests," says Catrin Ebken.
