To enable people with disabilities to enjoy their holidays in Cuxhaven, many beach accesses and public toilets have already been converted to be wheelchair and disabled-friendly.
Many accommodations in Cuxhaven can also call themselves barrier-free, as can the "Wernerwald" campsite, which has modern sanitary facilities for the disabled.

The city of Cuxhaven has made the crossings between pavements and roadways and the entrances to public buildings wheelchair accessible as far as possible. The dike, however, remains an insurmountable obstacle; it was built for the protection of all of us and is therefore not wheelchair accessible. However, those who dare to use the slopes of the dike can also reach the foreland.
