About the Cap San Diego:
She is the largest museum cargo ship in the world that is fit to sail. Her elegant silhouette is as much a part of Hamburg's harbour panorama as the Speicherstadt and the Michel. Tourists love her, the crew and 45 retired seamen who work on a voluntary basis keep her in good shape with great commitment: The Cap San Diego!
The Cap San Diego is the last surviving ship in a series of six fast general cargo freighters built in 1961/62 for the Hamburg Süd shipping company, which sailed mainly to South America until the end of 1981.
The Cap San Diego has been a museum ship since 1988 and a maritime monument since 2003, and is now moored at the Überseebrücke in Hamburg. In 2016, this beautiful cargo ship turned 55 years old - a proud age for a ship that is still roadworthy.
Several times a year, the Cap San Diego departs for guest cruises with up to 500 passengers.
While the Cap San Diego is moored in Cuxhaven, rooms on the ship or the pool deck can be hired for unforgettable events. Our catering team will be happy to spoil you www.capsandiego.de.
