Environmentally aware and sporty to the Lower Saxony Sports Day in Cuxhaven

Environmentally conscious for the Lower Saxony Sports Day on Saturday, 2 July, in Cuxhaven? The city of Cuxhaven has come up with something special for visitors. Together with the support of PNE AG, there will be a barrier-free shuttle bus provided by KVG as well as various mobile bicycle parking spaces at the event areas. A model that could also find favour at major events in the future, as the city expects up to 30,000 visitors especially for this sports day.

No long search for a parking space, direct arrival at the event areas and the rides are also free of charge: For the Lower Saxony Sports Day 2022 on Saturday, 2 July, in the city of Cuxhaven, a large parking area - similar to the one used for the Duhner Wattrennen - will be available to the many thousands of visitors on the grounds of the district of Cuxhaven on Vincent-Lübeck-Straße, 27472 Cuxhaven. So for those who do not want to or cannot do without their car or motorised vehicle, a large parking area is available on this site to avoid the traffic congestion and limited parking around the sports day event areas.

Every 15 minutes with the shuttle bus powered by PNE AG to the event

The shuttle bus powered by PNE AG will depart from the Cuxhaven district hall on Saturday from 9.30 a.m. to 5 p.m. at 15-minute intervals to the bus stop at the Döser Strichwegsportplatz and back to the district hall. The trips will be operated by KVG. The official opening in Grimmershörnbucht begins at 11 am. The City of Cuxhaven strongly recommends that all day trippers visiting Cuxhaven by car for the Lower Saxony Sports Day make use of this offer. On the one hand, to get to the event site with fewer emissions, and on the other hand, to avoid the limited number of parking spaces.

Change of stops: With the shuttle bus to the evening programme in Grimmershörn Bay

For the final evening event in Grimmershörnbucht with "radio ffn" and "Energy Bremen" as well as well-known artists such as "Kelvin Jones", the shuttle bus will then run every 30 minutes from 5 p.m. on the route between Kreishaus and the bus stop at Fährhafen/Grimmershörnbucht. Due to the end of the sports events, the bus stop at the Strichwegsportplatz will then no longer be served, as the event will shift completely to Grimmershörnbucht. The last shuttle bus from the ferry harbour back to the Kreishaus will leave after the end of the event. Please refer to the notice boards and all information under Lower Saxony Sports Day.

Additional mobile bicycle stands powered by PNE AG at the Strichwegsportplatz and Grimmershörnbucht are intended to inspire visitors to cycle.
